5 Must-Keep Products During Your Winter Travel

So, winters are right here! While some of us want to celebrate it in a cozy way warming up at our homes itself – others might opt for an outdoor, thrill-filled vacation at some picturesque place.
So, here I am going to share five must-have products that should be kept in your bag during your travel for showcasing a beautiful you on your winter holiday. Here you go..!!

1. Handy Moisturiser cum Sunscreen

As winter vacations mean soaking yourself into the sun – do not forget to carry your moisturiser and sun-guard along. The rich moisturiser will deep-moisturize your skin, and a broad spectrum sunscreen with UVA-UVB protection will protect your skin from harmful effects of sun. It will be a messy affair if you pack both the products separately, so try a combination of both that's readily available in the market.

2. Deep-Dark Gel Liner

You must keep a multi-purpose gel-liner with you, which can be used either way – as liners, shadows as well as kohl. These liners are water and smudge-proof, and keep you away from the hassle of retouching the makeup on your outings. So, just glide it as liner on your upper lash-line or fill-in the water-line with it to add extra-sassiness in form of kohl. One can also fill your entire upper-lid, and use it for a smoky-eyed avatar of yours on your vacation.

3. Skin-Purifying Makeup Remover

Despite your extremely busy schedule, make sure that you remove all traces of your makeup before you hit bed of your hotel. This not only lets your skin breathe after the whole day’s hustle-bustle, but will also act as a great pacifier for your mood. So, pack along a quality makeup remover or baby oil, and use it every night for unleashing a route towards youthful skin.

4. A Rich Nourishing Night Cream with AHA, Retinol Content

No one wants to be back from their vacations, looking older than they used to look. Therefore, make sure to take along your regular night creams to hold that wheel of time. These creams are known to slow-down one’s ageing process by working on it for overnight, and are much-needed on your exhaustive vacations. Pat on some AHA or retinol based night creams after removing all traces of makeup at night. It will enhance the production of collagen on your skin, which further boosts the elasticity.

5. Chunky Hair Clips and Bands

Loose and open hair is not recommended on holidays as not only it's messy affair, but can also attract a lot of dirt and dust on your tresses. So, bring those super-in and stylish messy buns to your rescue this winter, and secure it using hair clips, pins or clutchers in vivid and vibrant colours. This will not only keep sweat and hair away from you nape, but will raise your style quotient in as well.
Well, we just hope that these 5 aforementioned 'must-haves' will be of some help for you. Happy Winters ..!!

Top 7 Makeup Trends For A Bride-To-Be

Your wedding shopping is done and the pre-bridal sittings are almost over. And, now it is time to pay some attention to your wedding makeup. As your wedding day is around the corner, you have to look elegant and timeless in those lovely pictures. So, take a look at these latest bridal makeup trends, which will ensure that you look just perfect on your D-day.

Hair Accessories

Rock your wedding hairdo with a chic and eye-catching hair accessory. Adorn your hairstyle with fresh flowers like orchids, peonies, roses and jasmines. Those who do not want flowers, they can pick bold and beautiful hair accessories, like Swarovski crystals, jewelled clips, etc. to complete their bridal look.

Hair Extensions

Incorporating faux hair to the natural ones can enhance the beauty of your lovely locks instantly. If you wish to flaunt coloured streaks on your wedding, then coloured hair extensions are a good option. Easy to use and remove, coloured clip-on extensions blend wonderfully with the hair. Moreover, weaving hair extensions into your hair lets you create a unique and fresh look on your wedding eve.

Airbrush Makeup

This latest makeup technology is the best kept secret of models and stars. It is basically a makeup that is sprayed on the skin using an airbrush (an air gun machine) instead of sponges and brushes. It produces a thin layer of makeup and gives a matte finish to the skin. A slight rubbing or brushing will not cause the makeup to come off the face easily. Also, devoid of any physical contact with the skin, the process is absolutely hygienic.

Fantasy Makeup

Well, this makeup is all about standing out and not blending in. Here, the makeup is used as jewellery or tattoos to highlight your beautiful back and other body parts like navel. You can also wear this makeup as an accessory on the upper arm or as mehendi on the back of the hands. It perfectly complements light wedding outfits. With this, the bride can also bid adieu to the discomfort of heavy jewellery.

Permanent Makeup

Well, brides these days prefer to get a beauty spot or a lip tint, which stays with them for a long time. So, especially for your D-day, we bring to you a makeup technique that is similar to a permanent tattoo procedure. This specialised technique helps to create perfect eyebrows, eyeliners, kajal, beauty spot and lip tint. Just as a sterilised needle is used to create a tattoo, makeup artists in this technique also use a needle to fill colour or enhance a particular area. A permanent lipstick stays for 3-4 years, whereas eyeliner, kajal, brow colour and beauty spot last up to 15 years.

Corrective Makeup

As the name suggests, this makeup helps to camouflage flaws and highlight your best features. It creates an illusion through shadows and shades, thereby giving you a much defined look. Whether you want to turn your chubby cheeks into chiselled cheekbones, round face into oval or small eyes into big, correcting facial features is so easy and possible with it. This is the most trustworthy option for the brides who lack confidence in their natural features.

Nail Extensions and Art

Long, beautiful nails have always been the best accessory of a bride. However, girls with short nails need not lose heart. With nail extensions they can add length, strength and beauty to their natural nails in just a few hours. They can also enhance the beauty of their extensions with nail art, which is quite popular on the ramp and the red carpet. So, give your nails high-voltage glamour with big motifs and appealing materials like Swarovski crystals, glitter, stickers and dry flower petals.
So, what are you waiting for? It is time you incorporate some of these trends in your wedding look and charm your guests. After all, it is a once in a lifetime moment for you.

Beauty Blunders a Bride Must Avoid

Time before a wedding is quite precious and is often spent in massive “shaadi-shopping” only! This entire hush-hush ceremony of nuptials lets a bride indulge into actions without thinking twice before it; mostly because they run out if time or are simply unaware. Panic not, as Renowned Cosmetologist & Aesthetician and Founder-Director of ALPS Beauty Clinics, Ms. Bharti Taneja, shares few disastrous beauty blunders which should be completely avoided by a would-be-bride.

Simultaneous Waxing and Bleaching Sessions:

A lot of brides go on and schedule their waxing and bleaching sessions on the very same day or the next – which should not be the case as this can become a major cause of skin allergy. So, you should make sure that the minimum gap between both these sessions is of two days; as both if implemented together can also cause rashes to your face and body. Also, bleaching should be done prior to waxing to make you skin as smooth as silk. Same goes for body scrubbing and polishing as well which should also not be done with bleach i.e. on the same day.

Chopping hair too short:

Though a nice hair cut is all welcomed on a bride, a cut too short is still not advisable. Moreover, as a bride is most likely expected to don a braid or bun on her wedding; this may not be perfectly possible if she has shorter tresses. So, in order to avoid the chaos for your hair-stylist on your D-day, it’s better to keep you hair long so that they adapt to any style you choose for your hair. Remember, tresses are known to add towards a bride’s further beauty – you should keep them to maintain an all-traditional avatar. One more thing that should be kept in mind is to not color and go for any chemical treatment together on your hair – right before your wedding. This can end up causing severe damage to your tresses and can even make them appear limp when the day arrives.

Experimenting with Products

It is understandable that you want to leave no stone unturned to turn yourself into the most pretty bride. Therefore, you do not shy away from using every tom, dick and harry product available at the nearest store – which should not be the case. Rather, it is advisable for you to stay away from experimenting with new products; especially, creams, lotions and other skin-care products – as your skin may adversely react to such products and can cause skin-allergy to occur right before you wedding. To be on safer side you should think twice before switching-on to any new brand or product – that too after thoroughly enquiring whether they are dermatological approved or not. Of course, you may not like the idea of spoiling your marriage-day dreams due to an allergy or infection caused by a certain product.

Indulging into Junk Food:

Eating is directly proportional to your looks. But, all the hustle-bustle of wedding can make you eat erratically. The junk-street food you eat can become a major cause of weight gain, leading your wedding attire to not fit your body when the day arrives. Also, the more greasy and unhealthy food you eat, the more likely it is to take a toll on your skin too –making it appear unhealthy. Besides, the street food lacks hygiene too which makes you prone to diseases like; upset stomach, fever etc. – right before you nuptials. Therefore, you should cut back on the samosas and the burgers, and include more salads and veggies in your meals to turn yourself into a healthy bride.

6 Things You Should Definitely Do This Winter For Healthy And Gorgeous Hair

A wedding in winters is always more cherished as it gives an opportunity to a would-be- bride to adorn herself in her own way. She does not have to worry about the heat and sweat, be it in the choice of clothes, footwear, makeup, or anything else. But there are certain aspects that become a cause of worry for brides during this weather. For example, hair, which may appear to be dry, brittle and unmanageable, with just a few days left before the big day! But, shed your worries.
Here is what you should add to your hair care regime prior to your wedding. So, get ready to discover the secrets to silky, shiny and healthy tresses.

1. Avoid Hot Water

While the idea of having a hot shower in chilling winds may be your favorite, washing hair with such water is not recommended. Our scalp tends to appear dry during winters and washing your hair with hot water can make it turn even drier. Exposure of your hair with hot water can take away the natural moisture from them while making them appear dull and lifeless. Therefore, use lukewarm water for washing your hair in winter to keep the optimum hydration level on your scalp as well as hair, maintained.

2. Indulge into extra-conditioning

Shampooing your hair in winters also takes away natural oil from your hair; so make sure that you continue the hair washing process with extra-conditioning. Use a rich creamy conditioner after every hair wash. Moreover, you can certainly try using leave-in hair conditioners or keratin serums. These are very effective in sealing the moisture content in your hair strands; and hence, are considered the best for winters. And remember, well-hydrated and soft tresses make way for a superb and hassle-free hairstyle on your wedding day.

3. Essential oils and ‘good-old’ massage

All would-be brides dream of possessing long, strong, shiny hair for their D-day. For this, a champi (a thorough oil head massage) can be of great help to your hair. Tea tree essential oil works wonder for nourishing your dry scalp. Also, massaging the scalp with essentials oils, like lavender oil, lemon-grass oil, Moroccan oil, etc., on every alternate day, helps a lot to overcome this problem. You can also combine this essential oil treatment with your regular hot oil treatment (coconut oil, or mustard oil) to achieve better results.

4. Gobble your Nutrients.

Tresses are made up of keratin- a hard protein. Therefore, it becomes important to have a wholesome diet containing necessary nutrients. You should indulge in a diet rich in proteins, biotin, vitamin-D, omega-3-6 for boosting the keratin formation. This diet will nourish your hair and boost the hair-growth.
So, this winter, aim for smoother and shiner hair, by consuming protein and nutrient-rich foods such as; fish, eggs, beans, broccoli, milk and milk products, red meat and more, and be ready for healthy hair from deep-within.

5. Must-try home remedy for shiny and long hair

To add some more nourishment to your hair, try this ultra-nourishing home remedy.
Homemade Recipe : Prepare a very smooth paste by adding ripe banana, avocado pulp, honey, neem leaves and olive oil. Apply this mixture on your scalp and hair for 30-45 minutes and wash-off to get smoother tresses.

6. Other hair nourishing treatments

Beautiful hair can surely enhance a bride’s beauty by several notches. To turn your hair silkier, shinier and softer, a bride should foremost choose her hair products well. For infusing a new life to dull, damaged hair, you may opt for several revitalising hair treatments. Intense Hair Treatment, Keratin Smoothening Treatment, Hair Spas, Deep Nourishing Treatment, etc. can be opted for to discover glistening hair for the most important day of your life.
For a beauty regime to work properly, you need to give it proper time and attention. Be disciplined in your diet and skin-care routine. Homemade remedies with above hair care tips will work wonders to your hair. So, this winter, get out of that quilt and give your hair the much-needed care!

6 Things All Brides Must Tell Their Makeup Artists

Best dress, best shoes, best jewellery and best makeup– it is a dream for every bride to look the best on her wedding day. But only very few emphasise on achieving real beauty that depends on a great makeup artist and can only be achieved through his/her sustained efforts as well as tricks! All you need to do is discuss the right issues with your makeup artist before your nuptials.
Given my experience, I would like to tell you what all you should discuss with your makeup artist, so that you emerge flawless on your wedding day.

1. Pre-organising your bridal look

You should try your wedding trousseau and show it to your makeup artist; so that it becomes easier for him/her to decide on the colour palette of makeup to be used for the function. This pre-organising of your bridal-do would enable the makeup artist to prepare accordingly. This would leave no room for mistakes. Also, do let them know, whether you are going to wear a single or double dupatta style, to let them understand and prepare your bridal look depending on that.

2. Don’t be shy to say what suits you

Do not shy away from revealing what suits you and what doesn’t, especially, when it comes to choosing makeup products for your skin. Tell the artist to choose products according to your skin type, so that they don’t leave any sort of side-effects and emerge to be long-lasting. For hair, you should instruct your stylist to stick to the best brands possible too; as hair are most prone to fall if not treated sensitively.

3. Talk about what you want

While your makeup artist is selecting the hues of your lip and eye makeup, it becomes important for you to reveal your comfort and inhibitions. For example, if you feel you can’t don or carry off a cherry red or oxblood shade on your pout, it would be wiser to directly admit it in front of your artist. This would help you to emerge as a confident bride than just a bride!

4. You can’t ignore the ‘height’

You must also share the difference of height between you and your fiancé, so that he can decide upon the hairstyle to be made, accordingly. You, of course would not like it, if a puffed up bun makes you appear taller than your man! So, to avoid such a situation, you must share the height of your partner with the artist.

5. Do Talk about Time

To be on a safer side, it is advisable to ask about your ‘makeup-time’ from the professional, so that you can reach to him/her early on your wedding day. Well, keep in mind that when beauty services are done in a hurry, they seldom emerge good. This might also create a wrong impression of the concerned artist in your mind, which is not fair for a makeup artist. So, talk to your artist about how much time will be taken to complete your bridal makeup and hairdo, and plan your salon appointment accordingly.

6. Minutest Details Matter

While getting ready for your wedding day, you also have to keep in mind that a wedding is an event with multiple-ceremonies. At times or in certain communities, a bride might have to change her attires in between different customs. For example, just after the varmala, a bride might have to change into a different outfit before the pheras start. Well, the bride might just get enough time to change her clothes, but not her makeup.
So, in order to make your bridal look emerge perfect for all the ceremonies and with all the different dresses, it is important to show all your attires to the artist. This will enable them to round upon a perfect colour of eye liner, lip shade and decide for intensity of the makeup; and implement it according to all your outfits.
After you have selected your perfect bridal attire, jewellery and shoes, it all comes down to your makeup artist to put it all together in the best way possible. So, rush to your makeup artist now and talk your heart out to make sure you get nothing but the best!
